Department of the Navy
"Inner Space Dredging Services' process consisted of hydraulically lifting the material from the river bottom, transporting the material through piping and discharging the material into a containment area built specifically for this project. ISDS
constructed this area using "jersey barriers" to form the outside walls with the inner lining composed of two layers of filter fabric. A "weir" of sorts was constructed at the center of this containment allowing the solids to settle out prior to flowing over the inner baffle into the second
settlement area. Bales of hay were placed around the exterior of the containment to further filter the discharge water and filter fabric was placed at all storm drains in the immediate area. Once the containment was filled, the filtered liquid was allowed to drain off, the solids were mixed with a drying agent and removed by front end loaders. This procedure proved highly satisfactory with acknowledgement by the Shipyard Environmental Dept. as well as the State of Maine DEP. Inner Space Dredging Services carried out the terms of this contract with excellent workmanship, administration and timeliness resulting in an overall rating of highly satisfactory in all
categories of work."

Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corporation
"The original plans called for the use of an uplands settling pond for the dredge spoils with ultimate disposal to a permanent off site location. Inner Space Dredging Services, Inc. recommended the use of "Geo Tubes®" to contain the spoils. This approach was approved by the ACOE and the State of Vermont and allowed the project to be completed without the need to stop to dispose of spoils from the limited area available for spoils processing. In total, some five to six thousand cubic yards of material were removed and stored in
"Geotubes®", thus increasing the plants critical flow cross section by a factor of three. The work was performed under some very adverse weather conditions, including early icing of the river; however the tenacity of ISDS allowed the project to be completed by December 22."

"The North Brookfield Water Department would highly recommend Inner Space Dredging Services, Inc. for an exceptionally good job on the Horse Pond project, that being, the installation of variable screen (Intake replacement) working under 24 feet of water. It was a great improvement of the water system."

Viking Construction Inc.
"ISDS, Inc. consulted and worked on the marine section of this project in October and November 1994, which consisted of dredging a 6 foot deep trench below the river bed to
accommodate a 12" cast iron pipe, laying the pipe, and backfilling the trench, all in
approximately 12 to 15 feet of water.
The dredge materials and river conditions encountered were very challenging but with Inner Space Dredging Services' experience and "trouble shooting" expertise the dredging field, the time and costs spent on the dredging and installation of the pipeline were greatly reduced."

"Our dredging project on the Hudson River this
past winter encountered several challenges including weather conditions,
ice floes, and difficult dredging conditions. Additionally, the project
was on a tight schedule to allow for National Gypsum barge access during
the spring. The crew of Inner Space Services overcame these challenges
to successfully meet the project deadline. The crew of Inner Space
Services was a pleasure to deal with as they exhibited professionalism
at all times. Their careful and meticulous planning measures set them
apart from all other contractors I have worked with." |
