NINIGRET POND HABITAT RESTORATION, W912WJ-04-C-0020, CHARLESTOWN, RI-Environmental restoration project to remove 40,000 cyds from existing sedimentation basin to relieve delta shoaling in saltwater pond; removal or 200,000 cyds of sand from shoaled previously live eel grass beds to prepare areas for replanting and restoration of eel grass beds and juvenile fish habitats. Over 6000 foot pump to deposition area for beach nourishment. Working is very shallow waters, with extreme currents and excessive reshoaling.
 
MAINTENANCE DREDGING LAKE MONTUAK HARBOR- W912DS-04-C-0023, MONTAUK,NY: Maintenance dredging of 15,000 cyds of the main channel to Lake Montauk Harbor to depth of 16’ feet with beach nourishment.
 
HYDRAULIC DREDGING AND EXPERIMENTAL ENVIRONMENTAL AVIAN HABITAT CREATION, US ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS, ICWW MORICHES BAY, LONG ISLAND, NY DACW51-02-C-0035: Dredge 80,000 cyds of sand and build spoils containment area. Containment area reconfigured into environmentally engineered bird habitat area. Experimental project in hopes to find environmentally friendly beneficial reuse of dredge spoil materials.
 
HYDRAULIC DREDGING, US ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS, NARROWS OF LAKE CHAMPLAIN, WHITE HALL, NY- DACW51-01-C-0019: Dredge approx. 65, 000 cyds of materials from the Champlain Canal and pump to containment area. Build containment area on Cooke’s Island to contain materials; wetland mitigation of impacted wetland area. Project commencement August 2001.

REMEDIATION HYDRAULIC DREDGING OF CONTAMINATED DREDGE SPOILS AND DISPOSAL, CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILROAD, NEWPORT, VT: Dredge 440 cyds of heavy metal and petroleum contaminated materials, using flocculant and Geotube containers, enclosed in a lined jersey barrier containment area. Monitor for strict environmental constraints and water quality. De-water materials and mix with drying agent. Truck to disposal site for daily cover.

HYDRAULIC DREDGING POWER PLANT PROJECTS AND ALTERNATE CONTAINMENT:

MAINTENANCE DREDGING AFTER 25 YEARS AT COAL FIRED POWER PLANT, SOUTHERN NH: Dredge waste retention pond after 25 or more years of not being dredged 10’-12’ deep. The plant had a limited area for a containment area so we built a containment area out of Jersey barriers, lined with filter cloth. This was then trucked out weekly to make room for more materials. Dredge material very fine so flocculant was added at the dredge to consolidate materials.
 
MAINTENANCE DREDGING AT INTAKE FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, SOUTHERN VT; Dredge in front of cooling intake for Nuclear Generator in Connecticut River. Dredged 30 feet below surface, with 40 foot lift, 2200 lf of HDPE pipeline. Provided innovative containment area design using 300 foot GEOTUBES. Fully contained material in GEOTUBES for disposal upland at later date. Traditional settling basin would have allowed only half of sediment removal due to area constraints. Worked under very stringent security and safety regulations.

HYDRAULIC DREDGING PRIVATE BUSINESS:

HYDRAULIC DREDGING AT NATIONAL GYPSUM PLANT TO DEEPEN BERTHING DOCK FOR MATERIAL SHIPS, HUDSON RIVER NY: Hydraulic dredging of approximately 13,000 cys of material to depth of 32 feet below mean low water, to deepen berthing/unloading dock for gypsum material ships on the Hudson River.
 
EMERGENCY DREDGING OF FIRE INTAKE AT PAPER PLANT, SOUTHERN VT; Hydraulic dredging of approximately 1200 cy of accumulated sediments that were blocking the water flow to the emergency fire pumping station. Pumped materials approximately 1000 lf into 100 foot GEOTUBES for subsequent upland disposal. Methodology recommended and approved by Vermont Department of Water Quality for good environmental practices.
 
HYDRAULIC DREDGING, SHANTY TOWN CHANNEL, OCEAN CITY, MD: Dredge Approx. 12,000 cyds of sand and pump 3400 lf to containment area to deepen navigational channel. Restore containment area to original condition.
